Rapper and hip-hop producer Warren G is set to perform today at San Francisco’s Rockit Room. The show, also featuring Mac Mall and Lunar Lights, begins at 9 p.m.
Tickets for the event are on presale for $20 and can be bought at the door for $25. All those planning to attend must be age 21 or older with ID. Flossafee will be hosting and Sean G will be the DJ for the night.
Warren G was one of the original members of the group 213, formed in 1990 with friends Nate Dogg and Snoop Dogg. In 1992 he introduced his brother-in-law Dr. Dre to the group and an alliance was instantly formed creating the beginnings of the West Coast movement.
Bringing a smooth, crisp sound, Warren G released his debut album “Regulate…G Funk Era” in 1994. The album went triple platinum selling over 4.5 million records. The hit single “Regulate” from the album was certified platinum and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, making both the album and single instant classics.
“This D.J.,” a remake of “I Shot the Sheriff,” is another one of Warren G’s many classics. He has also been associated with the likes of The Dogg Pound, The Dove Shack, Cedric Ceballos, Twinz and Reel Tight.
